A Perfect Weekend

This wedding started off in classic New Orleans fashion, with a rehearsal dinner at Muriel’s in the French Quarter. If you’ve ever been to Muriel’s, you know it’s a gem right next to Jackson Square—a place that offers an intimate and charming setting for capturing candid moments. The night was full of laughter and emotion during the cocktail hour and the heartfelt speeches. I was able to get some fantastic shots of the couple and their families enjoying themselves, and it was clear this was going to be a special weekend.

The big day kicked off at Hotel St. Vincent, a stunning venue with so much personality. My work as a New Orleans wedding photographer started with the details: rings, florals, and the dress—all those little elements that tell the story of the day. Afterward, I moved on to capture some sweet moments of the bride getting ready with her bridal party. The first look between the bride and her dad and brother was unforgettable. It took place on the hotel’s balcony, while the bridesmaids watched through a window from inside, adding an extra layer of emotion to an already touching moment. It’s these candid, heartfelt experiences that make being a New Orleans photographer such a rewarding job.

The ceremony itself took place in the courtyard in front of the Evangeline Room, a beautiful space that set the perfect tone for the day. Afterward, I was able to take some portraits of the bride and groom, along with the family shots, before we moved into the reception. First dances, heartfelt speeches, and cake cutting filled the evening with love and joy. Then, the highlight of the night: Kinfolk Brass Band led a second line through the streets of the Garden District. The energy was infectious, with everyone dancing and celebrating New Orleans-style.

We capped off the evening with a bubble exit, which was a perfect send-off for the couple. Overall, it was a true celebration of love and the essence of New Orleans, filled with moments I was so happy to capture as their wedding photographer in New Orleans.
