A Music box village wedding

This wedding at The Music Box was truly something special, a day that kept us all on our toes, but in the best way possible. The forecast had everyone a little anxious, myself included—I spent the morning constantly checking the radar, expecting rain. By the time I arrived at the venue, the skies miraculously cleared up, and the rain held off for us to get the formal family portraits done outside. The staff at The Music Box Village were incredible, completely prepared for anything with tents and a backup plan to bring everyone inside if needed. Despite the looming rain, the couple was incredibly relaxed, which made everything go smoothly.

Once the portraits were done, guests started to arrive, and the bride and groom took the time to greet everyone personally. When everyone was settled, the ceremony began. It was intimate and heartfelt, with three of their close friends officiating, which made it all the more personal and touching. After the ceremony, I grabbed a few more portraits of the couple before the reception kicked off.

The reception was divided between the warehouse and the Music Village, with The Derrick Freeman Band setting the perfect mood for the first dances. The vibe of the evening was so unique, blending the creative spirit of the venue with the laid-back, celebratory energy of the couple and their guests. And then, as if perfectly timed, we ended the night with a second line to Vaughn’s Bar. Right as we arrived, the rain started up again, but it only added to the magic of the night—it was as if the weather had paused just for their wedding. Checking the radar throughout the night, I kept seeing rain right over us that somehow never arrived until the celebration was over. It was one of those moments where everything came together in the most incredible way.

New Orleans wedding photography always brings something unique, but this wedding at The Music Box stood out for its beautiful balance of love, creativity, and unpredictability. As a New Orleans wedding photographer, it was a night to remember, full of joy, music, and that unforgettable second line to cap off the celebration. It's moments like these that make being a wedding photographer in New Orleans so rewarding—capturing the spirit of New Orleans weddings in all their vibrant, unpredictable glory.
